Salesforce’s Peter Lington on breaking down data fragmentation
Peter Lington, AVP, Department of War, for Salesforce, discussed how the DOW can achieve rapid decision-making without sacrificing security or trust. He argued that speed and security are not mutually exclusive if organizations leverage true Software as a Service (SaaS) architecture. By managing the entire stack, Salesforce enables seamless compliance with zero-trust standards and rapid innovation through regular updates. To address data fragmentation, Lington suggested an architectural approach using Informatica for data management, MuleSoft for API-led integration, and Data 360 for unification. This strategy allows leaders to connect legacy systems to modern applications without costly “rip and replace” operations.
