Scale AI’s Zane Teeters on AI orchestration for defense

Zane Teeters, Head of Public Sector GTM at Scale AI, discussed decision advantage as the operational concept that will most shape national security. He sees two main barriers to getting the right data to decision makers. The first is access: data is split across separate systems, networks and classification levels. He said an AI orchestration layer can fix this without new infrastructure. The harder barrier is trust, since no commander will risk lives on a recommendation they can’t question. To earn that trust, systems need traceable reasoning, rigorous testing and vetting against the commander’s own mission conditions.
