Brig. Gen. Anthony Gibbs, Capability Program Executive for Mission Autonomy for the U.S. Army, discussed the impact of edge computing and real-time data on decision-making in contested environments, emphasizing the rapid integration and networking of unmanned systems to close kill chains faster. He highlighted the evolving concept of human-machine teaming, focusing on translating the commander’s intent into dynamic mission plans and re-tasking across systems. Gibbs also stressed the need for dynamic combat training centers to keep up with rapidly changing technologies and tactics, as seen in Ukraine, to ensure Blue Force units can adapt and respond quickly.
